Products and their product-based variations have common models and matching fields.
Amazon also uses an additional parameter for combining product based variations with the main product -
Amazon Parent SKU. This parameter should be common for product-based variations.
To create Parent SKUs for products:
- Create a generator template (Title template):
- Go to Title Templates
- Create a new template using matching fields for Parent SKU, Like Model code, Gemstone Code,
and a Free Field ending, e.g. "Parent".
For example:
For a listing with metal variations only, model and gemstone should be the same for each variation.
In this case for Parent SKU use fields: Model code, Gemstone Code and Free Field "Parent".
Such a template will create the same Parent SKU for each variation product.
In case the listing has variations by Gemstone Code too, don't use Gemstone code in a template,
otherwise, Parent SKUs will be different.
- Generate Parent SKUs:
- Select relevant products in Catalog
- Apply created template for Amazon Parent SKU
- Check results in the batch
