To enable the proper stock valuation, Valigara distinguishes between the Real and Virtual products in the catalog.
Real Products are the ready-to-ship, fully assembled items Real Products are present in the physical inventory of the company.
- Included in the calculation of the materials stock (gemstones and metals)
- Counted in Materials Report In the Purchasing module
Virtual Products do not exist in reality, but only in the digital form, as part of the eCommerce operation.
These are the virtual combination of Models, Metals, and Gemstones. The physical product will be created only after the order happens or will be shipped to the client directly by an external manufacturer.
- Changes in the virtual products do not affect the Product catalog value.
To set a product as Real, n product edit page -> Stock block -> check the "Real" checkbox
Valigara logic related to Real / Virtual products:
- if the product is added to the catalog through Inventory Receipt (Purchasing module), it is set as Real
- if the product is created from a model in Valigara / imported from Excel, it is set as Virtual (unless specifically checked in Excel)
- The Real field is available for export/import in Products and Orders pages, and in Products Main filter
