Daily variant creation limit reached
Error: "Daily variant creation limit reached. Please try again later. See https:\help.shopify.com\api\getting-started\api-call-limit for more information about rate limits and how to avoid them."
Reason: The error is caused by Shopify's limit on daily variation updates. Shopify allows posting up to 50,000 variations a day. More explanations are available in this Shopify community post.
Solution:
As it's a Shopify side limitation, the solution is not technical but administrative:
- Wait for the end of the day, for Shopify to release the limit
- When executing the "Run integration" operation with the Shopify module in Valigara: For updates that do not relate to variations, consider running the operation in the "Specific fields" mode, and not "All fields" mode (which re-creates all variations). This will reduce the count of variation updates, and allow updating more products in one day
- Reach out to Shopify customer support about increasing the limit.
Metafield type
Error: {"errors":{"type":["'single_line_text_field' must be consistent with the definition's type: 'multi_line_text_field'."]}}
Reason: Metafield definition/ values were not consistent and didnt match in both Valigara and Shopify
Solution: Metafield definition/ values should be consistent/ the same in both Valigara and Shopify
To correct this, you can change the metafield value, for example, from "String" to "Text value".
Location is deactivated
Error: Qty. cannot be set for "PRODUCTNAME" location "LOCATIONID", reason: Location is deactivated
Reason: One of the Shopify inventory locations is deactivated.
Solution:
Reactivate the Shopify location, using the Shopify backoffice, or delete it the location is irrelevant. Here is the Shopify helpdesk on how to handle locations.
