Valigara allows importing product data from the existing Shopify listings.
Import from Shopify has two stages:
- Fetching - Valigara imports the information from Shopify listings and analyzes it
- Import - Valigara actually creates products from the fetched information
Fetching
- Go to Catalog page
- in Actions menu, select Shopify > Import Products
3. In the import pop-up set the import settings:
- Select the Shopify store
- Resize images to 3500 x 3500 px according to system settings
- If checked, images are resized during the import according to Global Settings -> Image Settings
- If unchecked, images are imported in the original size
- Import all images to variation products.
- If checked, Valigara imports all the rest of the images to variation product after associated variation image if there is any.
- If unchecked, Valigara imports to variation product only associated variation image if there is any.
- Select the import mode:
- All listings inventory - import all Shopify listings
- Active listings only - import only the active Shopify listings
- Partial - enter any number of listings to import. Listings will be taken according to their Shopify ID, from lowest to highest
- Specific IDs - select a specific Shopify listing ID to import. Select multiple listing IDs separating them by a comma ","
- Click Yes to start the import process
Import
Once Valigara finishes fetching information from Shopify listings, the "Listings Import" pop-up appears.
If you don't want to run the import immediately, close the popup, and start the import manually later by going into the relevant "Shopify Listings Fetching" batch on the Batches page. To start the process, on the batch page click.
During the Fetching stage, Valigara checks the Shopify listings for variations and attributes. To create relevant products and store the information correctly, at the Import stage, define what are the relevant Valigara fields for the attributes and how the Variations are to be created.
In the pop-up "Import specifics mappings," select:
- Duplicate SKUs
- Create a separate product - products won't be connected to each other in Valigara. Use this option if the products are not identical.
- link the same multiple listings to one product/to an existing product in Valigara - in this case, the product information will be taken from the 1st fetched listing
- Checkbox - AND from other listings with the same SKU will be also taken images (related to this SKU).
Use this option if the products are identical.
In case of first option creation - create separated products with SKUs: SKU, SKU-1, SKU-x+1...
In case of the second option - link all related listings to one/existing product
- Variations if relevant.
- Example: A listing has 2 variations: "option1" (showing the available gold colors and purities) and "option2" (showing the available ring sizes)
- In Shopify variation "option1" choose the "Select field" -> and in the list of Valigara fields, choose
"Main Metal -> Metal purity and title" - In Shopify variation "option2" choose the "Select field" -> and in the list of Valigara fields, choose "Product: Sizes->Sizes"
- The import creates:
- Separate products, with their own SKUs in Valigara Catalog for product-based variations (e.g. metals: white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, platinum and variations with different purity, main gemstone, etc.)
- Variation fields with their own SKUs for field-based variations (e.g. sizes, length, box color/type, etc.)
- Attributes Tab maps how Shopify listing attributes are stored in Valigara products.
The attributes can be saved to:- Existing Valigara field - select from the drop-down
- New Field - this will create the new field under "Shopify Import" set in Additional fields
- Skip Field - the data of the specific attribute will be ignored.
- Click the Process button. Open the batch from the pop-up
- Click to "Show products" to see the created products in the import batch.
- Success section
- Shows the successfully imported single and variation products
- Click on a specific Item to open the product Edit page
- Clickto see imported products on Products page
- Errors section
- Shows the list of products that failed to import, with specific error messages.
