Fetch gemstone data from GIA/IGI

Valigara integrates with GIA and IGI to fetch available gemstone parameters and certificate files. To run the integration, the gemstone must have a certificate number. After fetching, the certificate data and images are stored on the gemstone page.

To run the integration:

1. Go to Inventory -> Gemstones.
2. Select the gemstones to update.
3. Click System Actions -> Get data from external system.
4. In the Get datapop-up, configure the following settings:
   • System - select GIA or IGI.
   • Mode:
     • PDF only - fetches only the certificate file for the gemstone.
     • PDF and override data - fetches the certificate file and overrides existing gemstone data with the laboratory data.
     • PDF and fill missing data - fetches the certificate file and fills in missing gemstone data.
   • Certificate number:
     • Valigara supports storing 2 certificate images per gemstone.
     • Select First or Second depending on whether the certificate number is stored in the Certificate number or Certificate number 2 field.

5. Click Yes to start the process.
6. Upon completion, the certificate file is available on the gemstone page as an image and PDF file.

To fetch gemstone information, GIA requires the Precise weight and Certificate number fields. Make sure to fill them in before running the integration. Please note that GIA charges for API access, and therefore, additional fees apply when using this feature.
