How to assign existing gemstones in your inventory to products

In the jewelry industry, precision and efficiency are key. Accurately assigning gemstones to related products ensures that each piece meets customer expectations and inventory and data management efficiency maintains the highest standards. 

There are several methods to assign gemstones to your products in Valigara: 

• Manually on a Product page
• Using CopyData
• By Importing / Updating products from Excel

Manually add Gemstones on a Product page

Recommended for adding gemstones to a tiny number of products.

• Search for a relevant product(s) in the Catalog. 
• Click Add "+". Search for relevant Gemstones.
• Enter Gemstones Amount used in a product. According to Global settings, Total Carat Weight value can be calculated automatically.
• Based on a number of different accent stones used in the product, Add Gemstone 2, Gemstone 3, etc. 

Using Copy Data

Recommended for a massive number of products with a tiny number of gemstones of your inventory.

Examples:

• Assigning 5 different types of Melees as secondary stones to all products in Catalog.
• Assigning 12 Gemstones used in any of 200 models of "Birthstone" collection.

To assign Gemstones using Copy Data:

1. Search for a relevant product(s) in the Catalog
2. Run Copy Data action in one of the modes:
   • Set new
     • In this mode, Valigara assigns selected Gemstones 1,2,3... 
     • Add Gemstone X Title and enter the value
     • Include Gemstone X Amount and Gemstone X Total Weight fields if relevant  
   • Between products
     • In this mode, Valigara copies source product gemstone information to destination products. 
     • Select Copy From product and Copy To products to assign Gemstones. 
     • Select Basic -> Gemstones field. It will copy all source stones to the destination
     • Or Select Gemstone X Title field. Include Gemstone X Amount and Gemstone X Total Weight fields if relevant.

By Importing / Updating products from Excel

Recommended for a massive number of products with a massive number of gemstones in your inventory.

To assign gemstones to products while Importing or Updating products from Excel:

1. Prepare Excel file. Include SKU and other required attributes
   • To Assign a specific Gemstone to a product, providing Gemstone X Code value is required.
   • Also, include Gemstone X Amount and Gemstone X Total Weight fields if relevant 
2. Upload File on Catalog -> Products Import/Update page
3. Create or select a relevant format. Run the action. Check results in batch.
